The Story So Far
Carricks is a bespoke lighting and furniture studio based in Sussex, creating handmade pieces for high-end restaurants, hotels and private homes across the world. Founded in 2020 at the start of lockdown, the company began with a £300 mat for a house in Eaton Square and has since grown into a team of highly skilled artisans working on one-off commissions and large-scale bespoke pieces in collaboration with some of the world’s leading interior design studios.
Founder Glen Carrick Junior grew up visiting his father, Glen Carrick Senior, at work, watching him restore and create grand chandeliers from a young age. He began learning the trade himself at just 15 years old and, alongside his two brothers, followed that path into the profession, developing a deep understanding of the specialist skills and processes behind bespoke lighting and furniture.
Carricks approach to making is rooted in a deep respect for craftsmanship, material and process. Glen has developed a thorough understanding of every stage of production, from lost-wax and sand casting to the specialist making of bespoke chandeliers and one-off commissions. That early foundation in traditional making continues to inform the studio’s approach today, shaping each piece through a close understanding of process, proportion and finish.
Every piece is approached with the same care, whether it is a bespoke chandelier, a one-off furniture piece or part of a wider interior scheme. The focus is always on creating work that feels resolved, tactile and enduring, balancing traditional craftsmanship with a refined and contemporary sense of design
The Collection
From our Sussex workshop, we continue to create distinctive furniture and lighting that blend traditional making techniques with state-of-the-art precision engineering. In 2026, Carricks merged with Robin Myerscough, marking a natural new chapter for the studio. Having collaborated closely since 2020 on the development of tables, lighting and furniture, this merger was a natural progression, reflecting a long-standing creative partnership. It also unites complementary skills across making, design and interiors.
By bringing Robin’s pieces into Carricks’ own in-house collection, the studio continues to evolve and expand its range, introducing new designs alongside pieces inspired by cherished antiques.
Design Influence
Alongside this foundation in making is a lifelong interest in design. Early influences included the work of Felix Agostini and the Giacometti brothers, followed by a lasting admiration for Jacques Quinet, Michel Frank and Marc du Plantier. The interior designer David d’Almada has also had a significant influence on the way Glen approaches design and materiality today.
These references continue to shape the studio’s work, informing an approach rooted in craftsmanship, strong form and a refined understanding of materials.
